Residents of his ward had walked for over hundred kilometers mid last year to protest the poor state of the Oinamoi-Kolowa road which the government had pledged to improve to bituminous sgtandards.
Makilap asked the governor Hon. Benjamin Cheboi to urgently call the president and his deputy to visit the country so as to address on the challenges which are being faced by Baringo county residents, “if you really fear to tell him, let me do it for you,” Makilap told Cheboi.
However Governor Benjamin Cheboi came the defense of the ruling regime urging the people to consider voting for Jubilee in the forthcoming general elections saying it has done much to improve living standards of the residents.

“In this first phase 600 youths, 100 from each sub-county will be trained on safety riding, security, HIV/AIDS and Drug Abuse,” said Youth and Gender Executive Mrs. Emily Kibet.
The Governor said he was touched by increased cases of accidents in the county where many were suffering or even lost lives in boda boda related accidents.
“The resources we are using to but medicine to treat accident related ailments can be used to do other development projects,” advised the governor.
The governor called on the youths to join saccos so that they can save and improve their living standards.
